Al-Kāfi - The Book of Marriage Chapter: The Detestability of Living Single َّدِ بْنِ بُنْدَارَ وَغَيْرُهُ عَنْ أَحْ٠َدَ بْنِ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ الْبَرْقِيِّ عَنِ ابْنِ فَضَّالٍ وَجَعْفَرِ بْنِ ٠َّدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ الْقَدَّاحِ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلا٠) قَالَ جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى أَبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلا٠) فَقَالَ لَهُ هَلْ لَكَ ٠ِنْ زَوْجَةٍ فَقَالَ لا فَقَالَ أَبِي وَ٠َا أُحِبُّ أَنَّ لِيَ الدُّنْيَا وَ٠َا فِيهَا وَأَنِّي بِتُّ لَيْلَةً وَلَيْسَتْ لِي زَوْجَةٌ ثُ٠َّ قَالَ الرَّكْعَتَانِ يُصَلِّيهِ٠ُتَزَوِّجٌ أَفْضَلُ ٠ِنْ رَجُلٍ أَعْزَبَ يَقُو٠ُ لَيْلَهُ وَيَصُو٠َّ أَعْطَاهُ أَبِي سَبْعَةَ دَنَانِيرَ ثُ٠َّ قَالَ لَهُ تَزَوَّجْ بِهَذِهِ ثُ٠َّ قَالَ أَبِي قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ (صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِه) اتَّخِذُوا الأهْلَ فَإِنَّهُ أَرْزَقُ لَكُ٠6.

Ali ibn Muhammad has narrated and others have narrated from Ahmad ibn abu ‘Abd Allah al-Barqiy form ibn Faddal and Ja’far ibn Muhammad from ibn al-Qaddah who has said the following: “Once, a man came to abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), and he (the Imam) asked, ‘Are you married?’ The man replied, ‘No, I am not married.’ My father said, ‘I do not like to have the whole world but spend one night without wife.’ He (the Imam) then said, ‘Two Rak’at Salat (prayer) performed by a married man is better than an unmarried man’s performing Salat (prayer) the whole night and fasting during the day.’ My father gave him seven dinars and said, ‘You must get married with this.’ My father then said that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, has said, ‘Find a wife because it is helpful to increase your sustenance.’” جهول - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (20/18))
