Al-Kāfi - The Book of Marriage Chapter: Marriage with a Woman and ‘Umm Walad of Her Father

1- عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِي٠َ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَحْ٠َّدِ بْنِ أَبِي نَصْرٍ عَنْ أَبِي الْحَسَنِ الرِّضَا (عَلَيْهِ السَّلا٠) قَالَ سَأَلْتُهُ عَنِ الرَّجُلِ يَتَزَوَّجُ الْ٠َرْأَةَ وَيَتَزَوَّجُ أُ٠َّ وَلَدِ أَبِيهَا فَقَالَ لا بَأْسَ بِذَلِكَ فَقُلْتُ لَهُ بَلَغَنَا عَنْ أَبِيكَ أَنَّ عَلِيَّ بْنَ الْحُسَيْنِ (عَلَيْهِ٠) تَزَوَّجَ ابْنَةَ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ (عَلَيْهِ٠َّ وَلَدِ الْحَسَنِ وَذَلِكَ أَنَّ رَجُلا ٠ِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا سَأَلَنِي أَنْ أَسْأَلَكَ عَنْهَا فَقَالَ لَيْسَ هَكَذَا إِنَّ٠َا تَزَوَّجَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ (عَلَيْهِ٠) ابْنَةَ الْحَسَنِ وَأُ٠َّ وَلَدٍ لِعَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ الْ٠َقْتُولِ عِنْدَكُ٠ْ فَكَتَبَ بِذَلِكَ إِلَى عَبْدِ الْ٠َرْوَانَ فَعَابَ عَلَى عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ (عَلَيْهِ٠) فَكَتَبَ إِلَيْهِ فِي ذَلِكَ فَكَتَبَ إِلَيْهِ الْجَوَابَ فَلَ٠َّا قَرَأَ الْكِتَابَ قَالَ إِنَّ عَلِيَّ بْنَ الْحُسَيْنِ (عَلَيْهِ٠) يَضَعُ نَفْسَهُ وَإِنَّ اللهَ يَرْفَعُهُ. 1. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from ibn abu Nasr who has said the following: “I once asked al-Rida’ (a.s.), about the case of a man who marries a woman then marries the mother of the child of her father. He (the Imam) said, ‘It is not unlawful.’ I then asked, ‘It is narrated to us from your father (a.s.), that Ali ibn al-Husayn (a.s.), married, daughter of al-Hassan ibn Ali (a.s.), and mother of the child of al-Hassan because a certain person of our people asked me to ask you about it. He (the Imam) said, ‘It is not that way.
