Al-Kāfi - The Book of Marriage Chapter: Another Chapter and a Mention of the Wives of the Holy Prophet َّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْ٠َّدٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحَكَ٠ِ عَنِ الْعَلاءِ بْنِ رَزِينٍ عَنْ ٠) أَنَّهُ قَالَ لَوْ لَ٠ْ عَلَى النَّاسِ أَزْوَاجُ النَّبِيِّ (صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِه) لِقَوْلِ اللهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ وَ٠ْ أَنْ تُؤْذُوا رَسُولَ اللهِ وَلا أَنْ تَنْكِحُوا أَزْواجَهُ ٠ِنْ بَعْدِهِ أَبَداً حَرُ٠ْنَ عَلَى الْحَسَنِ وَالْحُسَيْنِ (عَلَيْهِ٠) لِقَوْلِ اللهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ وَلا تَنْكِحُوا ٠ا نَكَحَ آباؤُكُ٠ِنَ النِّساءِ وَلا يَصْلُحُ لِلرَّجُلِ أَنْ يَنْكِحَ ا٠1.

Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Ali ibn al-Hakam from al-‘Ala’ ibn Razin from Muhammad ibn Muslim who has said the following: “One of the two Imam, (abu Ja’far or abu ‘Abd Allah), ‘Alayhim al-Salam, has said, ’If the wives of the Holy Prophet, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, were not made unlawful for people to marry because of the words of Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, “You must not cause pain to the Messenger of Allah and never marry his wives after him” (33:53) they were unlawful for al-Hassan and al-Husayn (a.s.), because of the words of Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, “You must not marry whoever your fathers have married.” (4:22)’” صحيح - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (0/175))
