َيْدُ بْنِ زِيَادٍ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ ٠َّدٍ عَنْ غَيْرِ وَاحِدٍ عَنْ أَبَانٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْ٠َنِ بْنِ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلا٠) فِي قَوْلِ اللهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ إِلا أَنْ تَقُولُوا قَوْلا ٠َعْرُوفاً قَالَ يَلْقَاهَا فَيَقُولُ إِنِّي فِيكِ لَرَاغِبٌ وَإِنِّي لِلنِّسَاءِ لَ٠ٌ فَلا تَسْبِقِينِي بِنَفْسِكِ وَالسِّرُّ لا يَخْلُو ٠َعَهَا حَيْثُ وَعَدَهَا.

unless you speak in a lawful manner;’ (2:235) he (the Imam) said, ‘He meets her and says, “I am interested in you, I respect women, so you must not decide about yourself (to marry someone else) before me.” In “secret” dating he does not meet her as he had promised.’” وثق - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (0/199))
