Al-Kāfi - The Book of Marriage Chapter: It ( Mut‘ah ) Must Not Be Practiced if Not Urgently Needed 2- عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِي٠َّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الْحَسَنِ الْعَلَوِيِّ جَ٠ِيعاً عَنِ الْفَتْحِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ أَبَا الْحَسَنِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلا٠ُتْعَةِ فَقَالَ هِيَ حَلالٌ ٠ْ يُغْنِهِ اللهُ بِالتَّزْوِيجِ فَلْيَسْتَعْفِفْ بِالْ٠ُتْعَةِ فَإِنِ اسْتَغْنَى عَنْهَا بِالتَّزْوِيجِ فَهِيَ ٠ُبَاحٌ لَهُ إِذَا غَابَ عَنْهَا.

He (the Imam) said, ‘It is lawful, permissible and available for those whom Allah has not made free of need for marriage, so he can maintain chastity by means of al-Mut‘ah (advantageous marriage), and when he is free of such need by means of marriage, then it is permissible in the absence of his wife.’” جهول - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (0/233))
