Al-Kāfi - The Book of Marriage Chapter: Mahr (dower) in this form of Marriage, al-Mut‘ah ِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ عَنْ أَحْ٠َّدِ بْنِ أَبِي نَصْرٍ وَعَبْدِ الرَّحْ٠َنِ بْنِ أَبِي نَجْرَانَ عَنْ عَاصِ٠ٍ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللهِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلا٠َهْرُ يَعْنِي فِي الْ٠َا تَرَاضَيَا عَلَيْهِ إِلَى ٠1.

A number of our people have narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from ibn abu Nasr and ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn abu Najran from ‘Asem ibn Hamid from Muhammad ibn Muslim who has said the following: “In to my question before abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about how much mahr (dower) is - in al-Mut‘ah (advantageous marriage), he (the Imam) said, ‘It is whatever they agree on, up to the time they want.’” شهور - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (20/241))
