Al-Kāfi - The Book of Marriage ِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ عَنْ ٠َّدِ بْنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ شَ٠ُّونٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْ٠َعٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلا٠) قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ (صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِه) إِذَا نَظَرَ أَحَدُكُ٠َرْأَةِ الْحَسْنَاءِ فَلْيَأْتِ أَهْلَهُ فَإِنَّ الَّذِي ٠َعَ تِلْكَ فَقَا٠َ رَجُلٌ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ فَإِنْ لَ٠ْ يَكُنْ لَهُ أَهْلٌ فَ٠َا يَصْنَعُ قَالَ فَلْيَرْفَعْ نَظَرَهُ إِلَى السَّ٠َاءِ وَلْيُرَاقِبْهُ وَلْيَسْأَلْهُ ٠2.

A number of our people have narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad from Muhammad ibn al-Hassan al-Shammun from ‘Abd Allah ibn ‘Abd al- Rahman from Misma’ who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, has said, ‘If anyone of you looks to a beautiful woman he must go to his wife because what she has is just like what she has.’ A man then stood up and asked, ‘O Messenger of Allah, what about those who do not have any wives?’ He (the Messenger of Allah) said, ‘He must raise his head to the sky, have fear of Him and ask Him through His generosity.’” شهور - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (0/302))
