Al-Kāfi - The Book of Marriage Chapter: Masturbation and Conjugal Relation with Animals ِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الرَّيَّانِ عَنْ أَبِي الْحَسَنِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلا٠) أَنَّهُ كَتَبَ إِلَيْهِ رَجُلٌ يَكُونُ ٠َرْأَةِ لا يُبَاشِرُهَا إِلا ٠ِنْ وَرَاءِ ثِيَابِهَا [وَثِيَابِهِ] فَيُحَرِّكُ حَتَّى يُنْزِلَ ٠َاءَ الَّذِي عَلَيْهِ وَهَلْ يَبْلُغُ بِهِ حَدَّ الْخَضْخَضَةِ فَوَقَّعَ فِي الْكِتَابِ بِذَلِكَ بَالِغُ أَ٠4.

A number of our people have narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad from Ali ibn al-Rayyan who has said the following: “A man once wrote to abu al-Hassan (a.s.), and asked about a man who is with a woman and touches her from behind her clothes and his clothes and moves until he discharges semen; if it is like masturbation.

He (the Imam) signed the answer that said, ‘In it he has reached his goal (of a sinful act).”’ شهور - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (20/385))
