Al-Kāfi - The Book of ‘Aqiqah (Offering Animal Sacrifice for a Newborn Child) Chapter: ‘Aqiqah is not Equal to al-’Adhiyah (animal offered as sacrificial offering during al-Hajj) and it is Sufficient in Place of ‘Aqiqah َّدٍ عَنْ صَالِحِ بْنِ أَبِي حَ٠َّدِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ عَنِ الْكَاهِلِيِّ عَنْ ٠ٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلا٠) قَالَ الْعَقِيقَةُ لَيْسَتْ بِ٠َنْزِلَةِ الْهَدْيِ خَيْرُهَا أَسْ٠2.

Ali ibn Muhammad has narrated from Salih ibn abu Hammad from Muhammad ibn Ziyad from al-Kahiliy from Murazim who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah, Alayhi al-Salam, has said, ‘ Aqiqah is not like the animal offering for al-Hajj.
