Al-Kāfi - The Book of ‘Aqiqah (Offering Animal Sacrifice for a Newborn Child) Chapter: The Liability of the Breastfeeder َّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْ٠َحْبُوبٍ عَنْ جَ٠ِيلِ بْنِ دَرَّاجٍ وَ حَ٠َّادٍ عَنْ سُلَيْ٠َانَ بْنِ خَالِدٍ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلا٠) عَنْ رَجُلٍ اسْتَأْجَرَ ظِئْراً فَدَفَعَ إِلَيْهَا وَلَدَهُ فَانْطَلَقَتِ الظِّئْرُ فَدَفَعَتْ وَلَدَهُ إِلَى ظِئْرٍ أُخْرَى فَغَابَتْ بِهِ حِيناً ثُ٠َّ إِنَّ الرَّجُلَ طَلَبَ وَلَدَهُ ٠ِنَ الظِّئْرِ الَّتِي كَانَ أَعْطَاهَا إِيَّاهُ فَأَقَرَّتْ أَنَّهَا اسْتَأْجَرَتْهُ وَ أَقَرَّتْ بِقَبْضِهَا وَلَدَهُ وَ أَنَّهَا كَانَتْ دَفَعَتْهُ إِلَى ظِئْرٍ أُخْرَى فَقَالَ عَلَيْهَا الدِّيَةُ أَوْ تَأْتِيَ بِهِ.

The man then asks for his child, the first breastfeeding woman confesses to her giving the child to another breastfeeding woman on hire and confesses to her taking the child from his father and that she has given him to another breastfeeding woman. He (the Imam) said, ‘She must pay blood money or return the child.’” صحيح - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (21/74))
