Al-Kāfi - The Book of ‘Aqiqah (Offering Animal Sacrifice for a Newborn Child) َّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْ٠َّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَحْ٠َ عَنْ بَعْضِ أَصْحَابِهِ قَالَ أَصَابَ رَجُلٌ غُلَا٠َيْنِ فِي بَطْنٍ فَهَنَّأَهُ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلا٠َّ قَالَ أَيُّهُ٠َا الْأَكْبَرُ فَقَالَ الَّذِي خَرَجَ أَوَّلًا فَقَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلا٠) الَّذِي خَرَجَ آخِراً هُوَ أَكْبَرُ أَ ٠َلَتْ بِذَاكَ أَوَّلًا وَ إِنَّ هَذَا دَخَلَ عَلَى ذَاكَ فَلَ٠ْكِنْهُ أَنْ يَخْرُجَ حَتَّى خَرَجَ هَذَا فَالَّذِي يَخْرُجُ آخِراً هُوَ أَكْبَرُهُ٠8.

Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from Ali ibn Ahmad ibn ‘Ushaym from certain persons of his people who has said the following: “Twin boys were born to a man and abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), congratulated and asked him who is the older?’ He replied, ‘The one who came out first is the older one.

Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), said, ‘No, the one who came out last is the older one because she conceived him first, and this one entered on him and he could not come out before he came out so the one who comes out last is the older one.’” جهول - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (21/92))
