A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from al-Husayn ibn Saâid, from al-Nadr ibn Suwayd from Muhammad ibn abu Hamzah from Saâid al-Aâraj who has said the following: âI once heard abu âAbd Allah (a.s.), state this Hadith. âIbn âUmar divorced his wife three times at the same place and time when she experienced Hayd (menses).
He asked the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, and he commanded him to go back to his wife.â I then said, âPeople say that he divorced only once when she experienced Hayd (menses).â He (the Imam) asked, âWhat for, then, did he ask the Messenger of Allah if he was able to go back to her? They speak a lie.
He divorced three times at the same place and time, then the Messenger of Allah commanded him to go back to her and then divorce her if he wanted or keep her if he so willed.ââ صØÙØ - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (MirʾÄt al-Ê¿UqÅ«l fÄ« Sharḥ AkhbÄr Äl al-RasÅ«l (21/101))
