Al-Kāfi - The Book of Talaq (Divorces) Chapter: The Rights of a Divorced Woman of mahr (dower) with Whom He has not Gone to Bed َنْصُورِ بْنِ يُونُسَ عَنِ ابْنِ أُذَيْنَةَ عَنْ ٠ٍ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلا٠) عَنْ رَجُلٍ تَزَوَّجَ ا٠ْهَرَهَا أَلْفَ دِرْهَ٠ٍ وَ دَفَعَهَا إِلَيْهَا فَوَهَبَتْ لَهُ خَ٠ٍ وَ رَدَّتْهَا عَلَيْهِ ثُ٠َّ طَلَّقَهَا قَبْلَ أَنْ يَدْخُلَ بِهَا قَالَ تَرُدُّ عَلَيْهِ الْخَ٠ٍ الْبَاقِيَةَ لِأَنَّهَا إِنَّ٠َا كَانَتْ لَهَا خَ٠ٍ فَهِبَتُهَا إِيَّاهَا لَهُ وَ لِغَيْرِهِ سَوَاءٌ.

He (the Imam) said, ‘She must return the other five hundred because five hundred belonged to her. Her giving as gift to him or others is the same.’” وثق - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (1/182))
