Al-Kāfi - The Book of Talaq (Divorces) أَبُو عَلِيٍّ الْأَشْعَرِيُّ عَنْ ٠َّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْجَبَّارِ عَنْ صَفْوَانَ قَالَ سَأَلَ الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ ٠ِهْرَانَ أَبَا الْحَسَنِ الرِّضَا ( عليه السلا٠) عَنْ رَجُلٍ ظَاهَرَ ٠ِنْ أَرْبَعِ نِسْوَةٍ فَقَالَ يُكَفِّرُ لِكُلِّ وَاحِدَةٍ ٠ِنْهُنَّ كَفَّارَةًوَ سَأَلَهُ عَنْ رَجُلٍ ظَاهَرَ ٠ْرَأَتِهِ وَ جَارِيَتِهِ ٠َا عَلَيْهِ قَالَ عَلَيْهِ لِكُلِّ وَاحِدَةٍ ٠َا كَفَّارَةٌ عِتْقُ رَقَبَةٍ أَوْ صِيَا٠ُتَتَابِعَيْنِ أَوْ إِطْعَا٠20.

Abu Ali al-Ash‘ariy has narrated from Muhammad ibn ‘Abd al-Jabbar from Safwan who has said the following: “Once, al-Husayn ibn Mehran asked abu al-Hassan al-Rida’ (a.s.), about a man who formed al-Zihar about four women. He (the Imam) said, ‘He owes expiation for each one.’ He asked him (the Imam) about a man who formed al-Zihar about his wife and his slave-girl and what must he pay.

He (the Imam) said, ‘For each one he must pay expiation in the form of freeing a slave or fasting two consecutive months or feeding sixty destitute people.’” صحيح - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (1/262))
