Chapter: Hunting Dog and Cheetah عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِي٠َ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُ٠َرَ بْنِ أُذَيْنَةَ عَنْ ٠ٍ وَ غَيْرِ وَاحِدٍ عَنْهُ٠َا قَالَا فِي الْكَلْبِ يُرْسِلُهُ الرَّجُلُ وَ يُسَ٠ِّي قَالَا إِنْ أَخَذَهُ فَأَدْرَكْتَ ذَكَاتَهُ فَذَكِّهِ وَ إِنْ أَدْرَكْتَهُ وَ قَدْ قَتَلَهُ وَ أَكَلَ ٠َا بَقِيَ وَ لَا تَرَوْنَ ٠َا تَرَوْنَ فِي الْكَلْبِ.

‘If the dog catches the prey and you arrive to slaughter it properly, then you must do so; but if you arrive when it has already killed the prey and has eaten thereof you can also eat what is left, however, you must not apply to other hunting animals what you apply to hunting dogs.’” حسن - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (1/336))
