Al-Kāfi - The Book of Hunting

Chapter: Hunting of Falcons, Hawks and Others أَبَانٌ عَنْ أَبِي الْعَبَّاسِ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلا٠) قَالَ سَأَلْتُهُ عَنْ صَيْدِ الْبَازِي وَ الصَّقْرِ فَقَالَ لَا تَأْكُلْ ٠َا قَتَلَ الْبَازِي وَ الصَّقْرُ وَ لَا تَأْكُلْ ٠َا قَتَلَ سِبَاعُ الطَّيْرِ. 6.

Aban has narrated from abu al-‘Abbas who has said the following: “I once asked him (the Imam) (a.s.), about the hunting of falcons and hawks. He (the Imam) said, ‘Do not use for food what falcons and hawks kill as well as what the predator birds kill.’” شهور - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (1/343))
