Al-Kāfi - The Book of Hunting

أَبَانٌ عَنْ زُرَارَةَ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ ( عليه السلا٠َا أَخَذَتِ الْحَبَائِلُ فَقَطَعَتْ ٠ِنْهُ شَيْئاً فَهُوَ ٠ِنْ سَائِرِ جَسَدِهِ فَذَكِّهِ ثُ٠5.

Aban has narrated from Zurarah who has said the following: “Abu Ja‘far (a.s.), has said, ‘Whatever of a prey is caught in the snare and is cutoff, it is dead, but what you find alive of the rest of the body, you can slaughter it properly and use it for food.’” وثق - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (1/354))
