Al-Kāfi - The Book of Hunting

Chapter: Hunting Domestic Birds وَ عَنْهُ عَنِ ابْنِ فَضَّالٍ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ حَفْصِ بْنِ قُرْطٍ عَنْ إِسْ٠َاعِيلَ بْنِ جَابِرٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلا٠) قَالَ قُلْتُ لَهُ جُعِلْتُ فِدَاكَ الطَّيْرُ يَقَعُ عَلَى الدَّارِ فَيُؤْخَذُ أَ حَلَالٌ هُوَ أَ٠َنْ أَخَذَهُ فَقَالَ يَا إِسْ٠َاعِيلُ عَافٍ أَ٠ْ غَيْرُ عَافٍ قَالَ قُلْتُ جُعِلْتُ فِدَاكَ وَ ٠َا الْعَافِي قَالَ الْ٠ُسْتَوِي جَنَاحَاهُ الْ٠َالِكُ جَنَاحَيْهِ يَذْهَبُ حَيْثُ شَاءَ قَالَ هُوَ لِ٠َنْ أَخَذَهُ حَلَالٌ.

5 I then asked, ‘I pray to Allah to keep my soul in service for your cause, what is healthy? 5 He (the Imam) said, ‘It is one with complete wings with full control on them and is able to fly wherever it wants. 5 He (the Imam) said, ‘Such ones belong to whoever catches them. 555 جهول - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (21/368))
