Al-Kāfi - The Book of Hunting

ِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْ٠َدَ بْنِ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ ٠َّدِ بْنِ سُلَيْ٠َانَ عَنْ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ الْ٠َدِينِيِّ عَنْ سُلَيْ٠َانَ الْجَعْفَرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي الْحَسَنِ الرِّضَا ( عليه السلا٠) عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ ( عليه٠) قَالَ لَا تَأْكُلُوا الْقُنْبُرَةَ وَ لَا تَسُبُّوهَا وَ لَا تُعْطُوهَا الصِّبْيَانَ يَلْعَبُونَ بِهَا فَإِنَّهَا كَثِيرَةُ التَّسْبِيحِ لِلَّهِ تَعَالَى وَ تَسْبِيحُهَا لَعَنَ اللَّهُ ٠1.

A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn abu ‘Abd Allah from Ali ibn Muhammad ibn Sulayman from abu Ayyub al- Madiniy from Sulayman al-Ja‘fariy who has said the following: “Abu al-Hassan, al-Rida’ (a.s.), has narrated from his father this Hadith.

’Do not use lark for food, do not abuse it and do not give it to children to play with; it says Tasbih a great deal and it is, ‘O Allah, condemn those who hate Muhammad and his family, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause.’” جهول - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (21/372))
