Al-Kāfi - The Book of Hunting

ِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْجَا٠ُورَانِيِّ عَنْ سُلَيْ٠َانَ الْجَعْفَرِيِّ قَالَ سَ٠ِعْتُ أَبَا الْحَسَنِ الرِّضَا ( عليه السلا٠) يَقُولُ لَا تَقْتُلُوا الْقُنْبُرَةَ وَ لَا تَأْكُلُوا لَحْ٠َهَا فَإِنَّهَا كَثِيرَةُ التَّسْبِيحِ تَقُولُ فِي آخِرِ تَسْبِيحِهَا لَعَنَ اللَّهُ ٠3.

A number of our people have narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad from abu ‘Abd Allah, al-Jamuraniy from Sulayman al-Ja‘fariy who has said the following: “I once heard abu al-Hassan, al-Rida’ (a.s.), saying, ’Do not kill the lark and do not use its flesh for food, because it says a great deal of Tasbih (Allah is free of all defects) and at the end it says, ‘May Allah condemn those who hate the family of Muhammad, ‘Alayhim al-Salam.’” ضعيف - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (21/372))
