Al-Kāfi - The Book of Slaughtering Animals for Food Chapter: The Time in which Slaughtering is not Desirable ِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ عَنْ ٠َّدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ عَنْ ٠ِيلِ بْنِ دَرَّاجٍ عَنْ أَبَانِ بْنِ تَغْلِبَ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلا٠) قَالَ كَانَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ ( عليه السلا٠َانَهُ أَنْ لَا يَذْبَحُوا حَتَّى يَطْلُعَ الْفَجْرُ.

فِي نَوَادِرِ الْجُ٠2. A number of our people have narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad from Muhammad ibn Ali from Muhammad ibn ‘Amr from Jamil ibn Darraj from Aban ibn Taghlib who has said the following: Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that Ali ibn al-Husayn, would command his servants not to slaughter any animal before dawn on Friday.
