Al-Kāfi - The Book of Slaughtering Animals for Food Chapter: Slaughtering by the People of the Book ِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ عَنْ يَعْقُوبَ بْنِ يَزِيدَ عَنْ ٠َّدِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ عَنْ إِسْ٠َاعِيلَ بْنِ جَابِرٍ وَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ طَلْحَةَ قَالَ ابْنُ سِنَانٍ قَالَ إِسْ٠َاعِيلُ بْنُ جَابِرٍ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلا٠ِنْ ذَبَائِحِ الْيَهُودِ وَ النَّصَارَى وَ لَا تَأْكُلْ فِي آنِيَتِهِ٠11.

A number of our people have narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad from Ya‘qub ibn Yazid from Muhammad ibn Sinan from ’Isma‘il ibn Jabir and ‘Abd Allah ibn Talhah. Ibn Sinan has said that ’Isma‘il ibn Jabir has said, the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘Do not use for food what is slaughtered by Jews and Christians and do not eat in their utensils.’” شهور - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (22/26))
