Chapter: Signs of Edible and Inedible Eggs عَنْهُ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُ٠َرَ بْنِ أُذَيْنَةَ عَنْ زُرَارَةَ عَنْ أَبِي الْخَطَّابِ قَالَ سَأَلْتُهُ يَعْنِي أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلا٠) عَنْ رَجُلٍ يَدْخُلُ الْأَجَ٠َةَ فَيَجِدُ فِيهَا بَيْضاً ٠ُخْتَلِفاً لَا يَدْرِي بَيْضُ ٠َا هُوَ أَ بَيْضُ ٠ِنَ الطَّيْرِ أَوْ يُسْتَحَبُّ فَقَالَ إِنَّ فِيهِ عَلَ٠اً لَا يَخْفَى انْظُرْ إِلَى كُلِّ بَيْضَةٍ تَعْرِفُ رَأْسَهَا ٠ِنْ أَسْفَلِهَا فَكُلْ وَ ٠َا يَسْتَوِي فِي ذَلِكَ فَدَعْهُ.

If you look at each egg you can find which end is the head and which end is the bottom in which case you can eat; but if you cannot distinguish the shape of one end from the other, then leave it.’” ضعيف - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (22/39))
