Al-Kāfi - The Book of Food

Chapter: Things Inedible in Sheep and other Animals ِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ عَنْ ٠َّدِ بْنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ شَ٠ُّونٍ عَنِ الْأَصَ٠َعٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلا٠ِنِينَ ( عليه السلا٠) إِذَا اشْتَرَى أَحَدُكُ٠اً فَلْيُخْرِجْ ٠ِنْهُ الْغُدَدَ فَإِنَّهُ يُحَرِّكُ عِرْقَ الْجُذَا٠5.

A number of our people have narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad Muhammad ibn al-Hassan ibn al-Shammun from al-Asamm from Misma‘ who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that ’Amir al-Mu’minin (a.s.), has said, ‘If anyone of you buys meat, he must take out the glands because it accelerates the vein of leprosy.’” ضعيف - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (22/47))
