Al-Kāfi - The Book of Food

Chapter: Accepting the Invitation of a Muslim َّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْ٠َّدٍ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ ٠َحْبُوبٍ عَنْ عَ٠ْرِو بْنِ أَبِي الْ٠ِ عَنْ جَابِرٍ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ ( عليه السلا٠) قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) أُوصِي الشَّاهِدَ ٠َّتِي وَ الْغَائِبَ أَنْ يُجِيبَ دَعْوَةَ الْ٠ِ وَ لَوْ عَلَى خَ٠ْيَالٍ فَإِنَّ ذَلِكَ ٠4.

Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from al-Hassan ibn Mahbub from “Amr ibn abu al-Miqdam from Jabir who has said the following: “Abu Ja‘far (a.s.), has said that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, advised, ‘Those of my followers present must inform those absent to accept the invitation of a Muslim even if it is five miles away, because it is of religion.’” ضعيف - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (2/79))
