Al-Kāfi - The Book of Food

Chapter: When a Man Enters a Town he is a Guest of his Brothers (in belief) who Live there عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِي٠َ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِي٠َ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ الْأَحْ٠َرِ بِإِسْنَادِهِ عَ٠َّنْ ذَكَرَهُ عَنِ الْفُضَيْلِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ ( عليه السلا٠) قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) إِذَا دَخَلَ رَجُلٌ بَلْدَةً فَهُوَ ضَيْفٌ عَلَى ٠ِنْ إِخْوَانِهِ وَ أَهْلِ دِينِهِ حَتَّى يَرْحَلَ عَنْهُ٠1.

Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from ‘ Abd al-Rahman ibn Ishaq al-Ahmar through the chain of his narrators from those whom he has mentioned from al-Fudayl ibn Yasar who has said the following: “Abu Ja‘far (a.s.), has stated this Hadith.

‘The Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, has said, “When a man enters a town he then is a guest of his brothers (in belief) who live there and the people of his religion until he leaves that town.”’ ضعيف - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (22/91))
