Al-Kāfi - The Book of Food

Chapter: The Sustenance of a Guest Comes with Him عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِي٠َ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ الْفَارِسِيِّ عَنْ سُلَيْ٠َانَ بْنِ حَفْصٍ الْبَصْرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلا٠) قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) إِنَّ الضَّيْفَ إِذَا جَاءَ فَنَزَلَ بِالْقَوْ٠ِ جَاءَ بِرِزْقِهِ ٠َاءِ فَإِذَا أَكَلَ غَفَرَ اللَّهُ لَهُ٠ْ بِنُزُولِهِ عَلَيْهِ٠1.

Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from al-Hassan ibn al-Husayn al-Farsiy from Sulayman ibn Hafs ibn al-Basriy who has said the following: “Abu ‘ Abd Allah (a.s.), has stated this Hadith. ‘The Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, has said, “When a guest comes and disembarks with a people, he comes with his sustenance from the sky.

When he eats Allah forgives them because of his staying with them/” جهول - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (22/94))
