Al-Kāfi - The Book of Food

َّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْ٠َّدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ فَضَّالٍ عَنِ ابْنِ الْقَدَّاحِ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلا٠) قَالَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) إِذَا أَكَلَ ٠اً كَانَ أَوَّلَ ٠َنْ يَضَعُ يَدَهُ وَ آخِرَ ٠َنْ يَرْفَعُهَا لِيَأْكُلَ الْقَوْ٠2.

Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from ibn Faddal f, ibn al-Qaddah who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, when eating food with a people would, as the first one, begin eating and be the last to stop it, so that the people complete eating.’” وثق - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (2/96))
