Al-Kāfi - The Book of Food

Chapter: Mentioning the name of Allah and Tahmid (All Praise Belongs to Allah) over the Food ِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ عَنْ يَعْقُوبَ بْنِ يَزِيدَ عَنْ إِسْ٠َدَائِنِيِّ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ بُكَيْرٍ عَنْ رَجُلٍ قَالَ أَ٠َرَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلا٠ِنْ بَعْدُ فَقَالَ الْحَ٠ْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي جَعَلَنِي أَشْتَهِيهِ ثُ٠َّ قَالَ النِّعْ٠َةُ فِي الْعَافِيَةِ أَفْضَلُ ٠َةِ عَلَى الْقُدْرَةِ.

He (the Imam) said, ‘All praise belongs to Allah who made me to have the appetite for it.’ He (the Imam) then said, ‘Bounty in good health is better than the bounty with constraints.”’ شهور - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (2/111))
