Al-Kāfi - The Book of Food

Chapter: The Excellence of Bread وَ بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) إِذَا أُوتِيتُ٠ْ بِالْخُبْزِ وَ اللَّحْ٠ِ فَابْدَءُوا بِالْخُبْزِ فَسُدُّوا بِهِ خِلَالَ الْجُوعِ ثُ٠َّ كُلُوا اللَّحْ٠7.

Through the same chain of narrators as that of the previous Hadith the following is narrated: “He (the Imam) has said that the Messenger of Allah has said, ‘When bread and meat is brought for you, eat bread first to stop the emptiness of hunger, then eat the meat.’” شهور - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (22/121))
