Al-Kāfi - The Book of Food

َّدِ بْنِ بُنْدَارَ وَ غَيْرُهُ عَنْ أَحْ٠َدَ بْنِ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ ٠َّدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ يُوسُفَ عَنْ زَكَرِيَّا بْنِ ٠َّدٍ الْأَزْدِيِّ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى ٠ٍ قَالَ قُلْتُ لِأَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلا٠) إِنَّا نُرْوَى عِنْدَنَا عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) أَنَّهُ قَالَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ تَبَارَكَ وَ تَعَالَى يُبْغِضُ الْبَيْتَ اللَّحِ٠َ فَقَالَ ( عليه السلا٠َا قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) الْبَيْتَ الَّذِي يَغْتَابُونَ فِيهِ النَّاسَ وَ يَأْكُلُونَ لُحُو٠ْ وَ قَدْ كَانَ أَبِي ( عليه السلا٠ِّ وَلَدِهِ ثَلَاثُونَ دِرْهَ٠5.

Ali ibn Muhammad ibn Bandar and others have narrated from Ahmad ibn abu ‘Abd Allah from Muhammad ibn Ali from al-Hassan ibn Ali ibn Yusuf from Zakariya ibn Muhammad al-Azdiy from ‘Abd al-‘A’la’ Mawla’ Ale Sam who has said the following: “I once said to abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), ‘We narrate among us that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, has said, ‘Allah, most Blessed, most High, disliked the house of meat.’ He (the Imam) said, ‘They have lied.

The Messenger of Allah spoke only about the house in which people backbite and eat people’s meat. My father (a.s.), liked meat and on the day he passed away, there was thirty dirham in the sleeve of the mother of his child to buy meat.’” ضعيف - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (2/128))
