Al-Kāfi - The Book of Food

َّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْ٠َّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحَكَ٠ِ عَنِ ابْنِ بُكَيْرٍ عَنْ زُرَارَةَ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلا٠) قَالَ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) لِأَ٠ِنِينَ ( عليه السلا٠) يَا عَلِيُّ افْتَتِحْ بِالْ٠ِلْحِ فَإِنَّهُ ٠َنِ افْتَتَحَ طَعَا٠ِلْحِ دَفَعَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ سَبْعِينَ نَوْعاً ٠ِنْ أَنْوَاعِ الْبَلَاءِ أَيْسَرُهَا الْجُذَا٠1.

Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from Ali ibn al-Hakam from ibn Bukayr from Zurarah who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, said to ’Amir al- Mu’minin, ‘O Ali, begin taking food with salt and end it with salt.

It dispels seventy kinds of troubles of which the least serious is leprosy.”’ وثق كالصحيح - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (2/154))
