Al-Kāfi - The Book of Food

َّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْ٠َّدٍ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ أَوْ غَيْرِهِ عَنْ دَاوُدَ بْنِ فَرْقَدٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلا٠) قَالَ أَكْلُ الْجَزَرِ يُسَخِّنُ الْكُلْيَتَيْنِ وَ يُقِي٠1.

Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from al-Hassan ibn Ali and others from Dawud ibn Farqad who has said the following: “Abu ’Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ’Eating carrot warms up the kidneys and causes erection.”’ جهول - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (22/217))
