Al-Kāfi - The Book of Food

َّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْ٠َّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنِ ابْنِ ٠َحْبُوبٍ عَنْ وَهْبِ بْنِ عَبْدِ رَبِّهِ قَالَ رَأَيْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلا٠) يَتَخَلَّلُ فَنَظَرْتُ إِلَيْهِ فَقَالَ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) كَانَ يَتَخَلَّلُ وَ هُوَ يُطَيِّبُ الْفَ٠3.

Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from ibn Mahbub from Wahab ibn ‘Abd Rabbibhi who has said the following: “I once saw abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), using toothpicks and I looked at him (the Imam). He (the Imam) said, ‘The Messenger of Allah would use a toothpick; it cleanses the mouth.’” صحيح - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (2/223))
