Al-Kāfi - The Book of Food

Chapter: Throwing away what Comes out with Toothpicks from Between the Teeth عَنْهُ عَنِ ابْنِ ٠َحْبُوبٍ عَنِ ابْنِ سِنَانٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلا٠َا يَكُونُ عَلَى اللِّثَةِ فَكُلْهُ وَ ازْدَرِدْهُ وَ ٠َا كَانَ بَيْنَ الْأَسْنَانِ فَارْ٠2.

It is narrated from the narrator of the previous Hadith from ibn Mahbub from ibn Sinan who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘What is in gingival (front gums) swallow it and what is between the other teeth throw it away.’” صحيح - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (2/225))
