Al-Kāfi - The Book of Drinks

Chapter: The Excellence of Water َّدٍ الْكُوفِيُّ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحَسَنِ الْ٠ِيِّ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَسْبَاطٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الصَّ٠َدِ بْنِ بُنْدَارَ عَنِ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ عُلْوَانَ قَالَ سَأَلَ رَجُلٌ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلا٠َاءِ فَقَالَ سَلْ تَفَقُّهاً وَ لَا تَسْأَلْ تَعَنُّتاً طَعْ٠7.

Ahmad ibn Muhammad al-Kufiy has narrated from Ali ibn al-Hassan al-Mithamiy from Ali ibn Asbat from ‘Abd al-Samad ibn Bandar from al-Husayn ibn ‘Ulwan who has said the following: “Once, a man asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about the taste of water.
