A number of our people have narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad and Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father all from âAmr ibn âUthman from Muhammad ibn âAbd Allah from certain persons of our people who has said the following: âI once asked abu âAbd Allah (a.s.), âWhy has Allah prohibited wine?â He (the Imam) said, âHe has prohibited it because of its effects and the destructive effects that it leaves behind.ââ رس٠- Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (MirʾÄt al-Ê¿UqÅ«l fÄ« Sharḥ AkhbÄr Äl al-RasÅ«l (22/271))
