Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Muhammad ibn âIsmaâil from Yunus ibn Yaâqub from Muâawiyah ibn âAmmar who has said the following: âI once asked abu âAbd Allah (a.s.), about the case of a man who knows the truth and brings boiled juice (grape juice). He says that it is cooked until two-thirds are evaporated but I know that he drinks even when only half is evaporated; if I can drink it while he drinks only when one-half is evaporated.
He (the Imam) said, âDo not drink it.â I then asked about the case of a man who is not of the people who know the truth, and we do not know him but he drinks only when two-thirds of juice are evaporated. He does not consider it lawful to drink after one-half is evaporated and he informs us about a boiled juice (grape juice), says that its two-thirds have evaporated and only one-third is left; if we can drink it.
He (the Imam) said, âYes, you can drink it.ââ ÙØ«Ù - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (MirʾÄt al-Ê¿UqÅ«l fÄ« Sharḥ AkhbÄr Äl al-RasÅ«l (2/284))
