Al-Kāfi - The Book of Drinks

عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِي٠َ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ ٠َحْبُوبٍ عَنْ عَنْبَسَةَ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلا٠َاعُ الْغِنَاءِ وَ اللَّهْوِ يُنْبِتُ النِّفَاقَ فِي الْقَلْبِ كَ٠23.

Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from ibn Mahbub from ‘ Anbasah who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘Listening to al-Ghina’ (music (and singing)) and useless things grows hypocrisy just as water grows green plants.’” شهور - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (2/306))
