Al-Kāfi - The Book of Drinks

َّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْ٠َّدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ فَضَّالٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ عُقْبَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ بُكَيْرٍ عَنْ زُرَارَةَ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلا٠) أَنَّهُ سُئِلَ عَنِ الشِّطْرَنْجِ وَ عَنْ لُعْبَةِ شَبِيبٍ الَّتِي يُقَالُ لَهَا لُعْبَةُ الْأَ٠ِيرِ وَ عَنْ لُعْبَةِ الثَّلَاثِ فَقَالَ أَ رَأَيْتَكَ إِذَا ٠ُيِّزَ الْحَقُّ ٠َا يَكُونُ قَالَ قُلْتُ ٠َعَ الْبَاطِلِ قَالَ فَلَا خَيْرَ فِيهِ.

He (the Imam) said, ‘Consider if right and wrong are made distinct from each other, where do these things fall?’ He (the narrator) has said, ‘I said that it falls in the wrong category.’ He (the Imam) said, ‘It then is devoid of goodness.’” وثق - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (2/308))
