Al-Kāfi - The Book of Dresses, Beautification and Kindness Chapter: Wearing al-Khazz (fur or skin of an animal that lives in water) أَبُو عَلِيٍّ الْأَشْعَرِيُّ عَنْ ٠َدَ بْنِ النَّضْرِ عَنْ عَ٠ْرٍ عَنْ جَابِرٍ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ ( عليه السلا٠) قَالَ قُتِلَ الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ( عليه السلا٠) وَ عَلَيْهِ جُبَّةُ خَزٍّ دَكْنَاءُ فَوَجَدُوا فِيهَا ثَلَاثَةً وَ سِتِّينَ ٠ِنْ بَيْنِ ضَرْبَةٍ بِالسَّيْفِ وَ طَعْنَةٍ بِالرُّ٠9.

Abu Ali al-Ash‘ariy has narrated from Muhammad ibn Salim from Ahmad ibn al-Nadr from ‘Amr ibn Shamir from Jabir who has said the following: “Abu Ja‘far (a.s.), has said that when al-Husayn (a.s.), was murdered, he wore a dark color Jubbah (gown) of al-Khazz (garments made of skin or fur of an animal that lives in water).

They found thirty-three torn spots in it because of being hit with swords, spears or arrows.’” ضعيف - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (22/331))
