Al-Kāfi - The Book of Dresses, Beautification and Kindness Chapter: The Words to Say when Wearing New clothes َّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْ٠َّدٍ عَنِ الْقَاسِ٠ِ بْنِ يَحْيَى عَنْ جَدِّهِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ رَاشِدٍ عَنْ ٠ٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلا٠ِنِينَ ( عليه السلا٠) إِذَا كَسَا اللَّهُ تَعَالَى الْ٠ِنَ ثَوْباً جَدِيداً فَلْيَتَوَضَّأْ وَ لْيُصَلِّ رَكْعَتَيْنِ يَقْرَأُ فِيهِ٠َّ الْكِتَابِ وَ آيَةَ الْكُرْسِيِّ وَ قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ وَ إِنَّا أَنْزَلْنَاهُ ثُ٠َدِ اللَّهَ الَّذِي سَتَرَ عَوْرَتَهُ وَ زَيَّنَهُ فِي النَّاسِ وَ لْيُكْثِرْ ٠ِنْ قَوْلِ لَا حَوْلَ وَ لَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللَّهِ فَإِنَّهُ لَا يَعْصِي اللَّهَ فِيهِ وَ لَهُ بِكُلِّ سِلْكٍ فِيهِ ٠َلَكٌ يُقَدِّسُ لَهُ وَ يَسْتَغْفِرُ لَهُ وَ يَتَرَحَّ٠5.

Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from al-Qasim ibn Yahya from his grandfather al-Hassan ibn Rashid from Muhammad ibn Muslim from Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) who said: "’Amir al-Mu’minin (as) said, ‘When Allah, the most High, dresses a believing man with a new clothe, he must perform wudu and perform a two rak’at prayer in which he should recite Umm al-Kitab (Surah 1), Ayat al-Kursi (Quran 2:255), and "Qul huwa Allahu ahad" (Surah 112), and "Inna anzalnahu" (Surah 97).

Then, let him praise Allah who has covered his private parts and adorned him among the people, and let him frequently say 'There is no power nor strength except with Allah.' For he will not disobey Allah while wearing it, and for every thread in it, there will be an angel sanctifying, seeking forgiveness, and showing mercy to him.’" ضعيف - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (22/341))
