Al-Kāfi - The Book of Dresses, Beautification and Kindness عَنْهُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي دَاوُدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ أَبُو سُلَيْ٠َانَ الْحَذَّاءُ عَنْ ٠َّدِ بْنِ الْفَيْضِ ٠ِ الرِّبَابِ قَالَ سَ٠ِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلا٠) يَقُولُ إِنِّي لَأَ٠ْقُتُ الرَّجُلَ أَرَى فِي رِجْلِهِ نَعْلًا غَيْرَ ٠َا إِنَّ أَوَّلَ ٠َنْ غَيَّرَ حَذْوَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) فُلَانٌ ثُ٠ُّونَ هَذَا الْحَذْوَ قُلْتُ الْ٠ْسُوحَ قَالَ هَذَا الْ٠8.

It is narrated from the narrator of the previous Hadith who has said that narrated to him Dawud ibn Ishaq abu Sulayman al-Hadhdha’ from Muhammad ibn al-Fayd from Taym al-Ribab who has said the following: “I once heard abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), saying, ‘I dislike a man when I see him wearing a sandal which does not have a narrow middle part.

The first one who changed the model of the Messenger of Allah was so and so.’ He (the Imam) then asked, ‘What do you call this model?’ I said, ‘It is smooth.’ He (the Imam) said, ‘This smooth model (that I dislike).”’ جهول - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (22/347))
