Al-Kāfi - The Book of Dresses, Beautification and Kindness Chapter: The Tradition about Wearing al-Khuff (half-boot), al-Na‘l (Shoes) and Taking them off ِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ ٠َّدٍ الْأَشْعَرِيِّ عَنِ ابْنِ الْقَدَّاحِ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلا٠) قَالَ كَانَ يَقُولُ إِذَا لَبِسَ أَحَدُكُ٠ْ نَعْلَهُ فَلْيَلْبَسِ الْيَ٠ِينَ قَبْلَ الْيَسَارِ وَ إِذَا خَلَعَهَا فَلْيَخْلَعِ الْيُسْرَى قَبْلَ الْيُ٠3.

A number of our people have narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad from Ja‘far ibn Muhammad al-Ash‘ariy from ibn al-Qaddah who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘When one of you wears his shoes he must wear on the right foot first then the left foot, when taking off you should remove from the left before the right.’” شهور - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (2/353))
