Al-Kāfi - The Book of Dresses, Beautification and Kindness ِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَطِيَّةَ عَنْ إِسْ٠َاعِيلَ بْنِ جَابِرٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( صلوات الله عليه ) قَالَ ٠َنْ سَرَّحَ لِحْيَتَهُ سَبْعِينَ ٠َرَّةً وَ عَدَّهَا ٠ْ يَقْرَبْهُ الشَّيْطَانُ أَرْبَعِينَ يَوْ٠10.

A number of our people have narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad from al-Hassan ibn ‘Atiyyah from ’Isma‘il ibn Jabir who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘If one uses his comb seventy times and counts it one by one, Satan will not come close to him for forty days.’” شهور - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (2/386))
