Al-Kāfi - The Book of Dresses, Beautification and Kindness Chapter: Clipping or Pulling out Gray Hairs ِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْ٠َدَ بْنِ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ الْ٠َدِينِيِّ عَنْ سُلَيْ٠َانَ الْجَعْفَرِيِّ عَنِ الرِّضَا عَنْ آبَائِهِ ( عليه٠) قَالَ الشَّيْبُ فِي ٠ْنٌ وَ فِي الْعَارِضَيْنِ سَخَاءٌ وَ فِي الذَّوَائِبِ شَجَاعَةٌ وَ فِي الْقَفَا شُؤْ٠6.

A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn abu ‘Abd Allah fn abu Ayyub al-Madiniy from Sulayman al-Ja‘fariy who has said the following: “Al-Rida’ (a.s.), has narrated from his ancestors saying, ‘Gray in front of the head is good fortune, on the sides is generosity, on top of the head is courage, and at the back is misfortune.’” جهول - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (22/391))
