A number of our people have narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad from Muhammad ibn âIsa from âIsmaâil ibn Yasar from âUthman ibn âAffan al-Sadusiy from Bashir al-Nabbal who has said the following: âI once asked abu Jaâfar (a.s.), about using a bathhouse. He (the Imam) asked, âDo you want to take a bath?â I replied, âYes, I like to take a bath.â He (the Imam) commanded to warm up the bathhouse.
He then entered in it and wore a loincloth, which covered from his belly button down to his knees. Then he commanded the owner of the bathhouse to apply on him (lime or oil) on what was not covered by the loincloth. Then he (the Imam) asked him to move away. He (the Imam) then applied with his hand on the area under the loincloth and said, âThis is how you must take a bath.ââ Ø´ÙÙر - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (MirʾÄt al-Ê¿UqÅ«l fÄ« Sharḥ AkhbÄr Äl al-RasÅ«l (22/403))
