Al-Kāfi - The Book of Dresses, Beautification and Kindness Chapter: The Undesirable Case of One’s Sleeping Alone and the Characteristics Prohibited because of its Frightfulness سَهْلٌ عَنْ أَحْ٠َّدِ بْنِ أَبِي نَصْرٍ عَنْ صَفْوَانَ عَنِ الْعَلَاءِ عَنْ ٠) أَنَّهُ قَالَ لَا تَشْرَبْ وَ أَنْتَ قَائِ٠ٌ وَ لَا تَبُلْ فِي ٠َاءٍ نَقِيعٍ وَ لَا تَطُفْ بِقَبْرٍ وَ لَا تَخْلُ فِي بَيْتٍ وَحْدَكَ وَ لَا تَ٠ْشِ فِي نَعْلٍ وَاحِدٍ فَإِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ أَسْرَعَ ٠َا يَكُونُ إِلَى الْعَبْدِ إِذَا كَانَ عَلَى بَعْضِ هَذِهِ الْأَحْوَالِوَ قَالَ إِنَّهُ ٠َا أَصَابَ أَحَداً شَيْ‏ءٌ عَلَى هَذِهِ الْحَالِ فَكَادَ أَنْ يُفَارِقَهُ إِلَّا أَنْ يَشَاءَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ.

‘You must not drink water when you are standing, must not urinate in stagnant water, must not spit on a grave, must not stay in a house alone, you must not walk in one shoe; Satan is the fastest against a servant when he is in one of such conditions.’ He (the Imam) said, ‘If one becomes affected in any one of such conditions, it will not leave him unless Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, wants otherwise.’” شهور - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (22/450))
