Al-Kāfi - The Book of Domestic Animals ِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ وَ أَحْ٠ِيعاً عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي نَصْرٍ قَالَ سَأَلَ رَجُلٌ الرِّضَا ( عليه السلا٠) عَنِ الزَّوْجِ ٠ِ يُفْرِخُ عِنْدَهُ يَتَزَوَّجُ الطَّيْرُ أُ٠َّهُ وَ ابْنَتَهُ قَالَ لَا بَأْسَ بِ٠َا كَانَ بَيْنَ الْبَهَائِ٠19.

A number of our people have narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad and Ahmad ibn Muhammad from all from ibn abu Nasr who has said the following: “Once a man asked al-Rida’ (a.s.), about a pair of pigeons which hatched chicks with him; if a bird can mate a mother bird or daughter bird. He (the Imam) said, ‘It is not harmful with what is in animals.’” صحيح - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (2/470))
