Al-Kāfi - The Book of Domestic Animals ِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْ٠َّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ ٠َّدٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحَكَ٠ِ عَنْ أَبَانٍ عَنْ زُرَارَةَ عَنْ أَحَدِهِ٠) قَالَ الْكِلَابُ السُّودُ الْبَهِي٠7.

A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from and Muhammad ibn Yahya from ‘Abd Allah ibn Muhammad from Ali ibn al-Hakam from Aban from Zurarah who has said the following: “One of the two Imam, (abu Ja‘far or abu ‘Abd Allah), ‘Alayhim al-Salam, has said that dogs of one color, all black are from Jinn.’” وثق - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (22/476))
